The Waters Edge Bar & Restaurant Review

The Waters Edge Bar & Restaurant:
A delicious meal in a relaxed environment

This month, we braved the weather we have been experiencing recently to travel to Southampton for this delightful restaurant, tucked away by the River Hamble. Luckily, the rain held off as we found ourselves in the harbour area eager to have a hearty feast!!

Although a little tucked away, the Waters Edge Bar & Restaurant was well sign posted and offered a lovely view across the harbour (well, we would have seen more if it had been during the day!) The Waters Edge Restaurant was presented well and a little quiet, but that could be a pure result of the time of year. In fact, the manager informed us that November was a quiet month, so booking wasn't really necessary, although summer does prove to be different due to its location.

The menu at the Waters Edge offers something for all tastes, and was within our £20 per person budget for at least 2 courses. We were able to do 3 courses, purely because of careful choice! You definitely get what you pay for and more!

The portions at the Waters Edge Restaurant were more than enough and we definitely recommend the home made chips....delicious!! This could be due to the fact that the chef has moved from London to work at Waters Edge, having previously worked at The Ivy!!

Compliments go to him, as well as the owner, who offered us entertainment, lively banter and an opportunity to sound out his winter menu, which we all agreed we would love to sample!! The Waters Edge Bar & Restaurant was generally clean, with just the one exception of a stained tablecloth, but that was insignificant to the wonderfully clean facilities we encountered. We heartily recommend a visit to this charming place by the water!!
