Harry Ramsdens Eastbourne Review

Harry Ramsdens: Simply the best fish and chips????

When you think of good quality fish and chips, the name Harry Ramsdens could come to mind. At least, that's what Dean and I thought when heading towards Eastbournes coastline for a mini break away. When we stumbled upon the restaurant when looking for a lunch out, we thought we must go in!! Unfortunately, we were not as excited upon finishing our meal as we were arriving!!

The menu is brief, but not too brief that you could not find a meal you liked. of course, everything comes with chips, but if you don't like fish, you can still have something else! It is possible to do 3 courses for £20, but on this occasion the thought of an after dinner ice cream on the seafront proved too tempting, so we stuck with one course this time. This proved a wise choice as the meals were very filling and there was the option of unlimited chip refills if we wanted it.

The fish was wonderful. The batter on the Plaice was light and fluffy, melting in the mouth and the scampi was just as tasty, with bread and butter on the side. The chips? Well, to be honest, we have tasted better. They were nothing special and proved dissappointing considering the fish had been such a winner. The cost of the drinks were not ideal, either. £1.99 for a soft drink not incredibly ideal!

All in all, the staff were friendly, the decor was so-so and the food was adequate. A half way mark for us here.
